Spread v1
A design and process exhibition featuring a diverse selection of Saskatoon based graphic designers. These designers represented a wide array of backgrounds – from some of the city’s biggest agencies to owners of their own studios. The projects on display showcased the breadth of work done by local designers and provided insight to the range of communications often dealt with through graphic design. This exhibition was held at three different facilities in Saskatoon over the period of 2 years. The events were well attended and provided positive reinforcement of the power of design – as aesthetically pleasing and as a communications device. The initial showing was held at the Mendel Art Gallery of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The event was well attended and provided ample viewing angles of all the projects. The second showing took place at the University of Saskatchewan Snelgrove Gallery. This event allowed for a rarely seen viewpoint within the gallery space for graphic arts. The third showing was at The Storefront – a newly founded gallery space that focuses on design and design culture. This show enabled the project to reach it’s intended audience the best and further the mandate of broading the public understanding of the roles design plays in both communicaitons and culture.
